HP Printer Software Upgrade for the HP DeskJet 690C Series version 11.0.1 for Windows 9x and 3.1x. This new software upgrade adds HP's ColorSmart II technology to the HP DeskJet printing system. This software is fully compatible and tested with Windows 98, Windows 95, and Windows 3.1x. This version 11.0.1 software includes a fix to an installation issue discovered with the version 11.0 software on Windows 98 operating systems (does not affect any other systems). This issue has been observed with the following language versions of the HP DeskJet 690C Series version 11.0 printer driver: Czech, Dansk, Deutsch, Espanol, Suomi, French, Hungarian, Italiano, Nederlands, Norsk, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Swedish. Installation Instructions: Save the .exe file to your hard drive, in an empty directory. Double-click on it. The file will expand and automatically begin the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen. If the installation process does not automatically begin, go to the directory where the file was saved, open disk 1, then double-click on setup.exe.

Windows 8 estimates: 500 million users in 2013

Microsoft expects to launch a new wave of optimism with Windows 8. In a recent statement, Steve Ballmer, chief executive at Microsoft, estimates that Windows 8 will reach a total of about 500 million users by the end of 2013.
